    Hello all!
My name is Jeff, and I am new to this forum. I have always had a love of “Holy Warriors” and the Knights Templar, which led me here. I am an Entered Apprentice Mason, and thought that was the only way to be a “Knight.” I found my way back to God after many years of service in the military. I was a Chapel Guide (mentor) and counselor/mentor over my 9 years in, and am looking to get a degree in Religion and Philosophy, ultimately wanting to become a Chaplain.

Welcome jeff! I’m so glad you found us and even happier that you found your way back to God. That is what we are all about, trying to bring others closer to God. So thrilled that you’re headed into the Ministry to become a Chaplain! Follow God’s call Brother

    Brother Knight Timothy,
What made you decide to become a ‘Knight Templar?

I like the reasons that you joined the Knights of Columbus and it sounds like it has been rewarding for you.

I got involved with the Knights Templar because I really wanted to have a higher sense of purpose and meaning in life. The Knights Templar have provided this for me by showing me a disciplined and orderly way to follow Christ.

I have to say, that hymn was interesting. I’ve never heard it but its a nice one nonetheless.

Speaking of which, take a look at this Templar video version of that song for children, beautiful!

The mythical King Arthur, and the actual writer, are very wise indeed.

Unlike the armor made by the hands of man and worn by the ‘Knights of Old,’ ‘The Full Armor of God’ must never be taken off. As Knights we must never lay aside the ‘Sword of The Spirit’ or ‘The Shield of Faith. For we do battle against a treacheerous Enemy, and we know not when or where he will attack. We must always be prepared for ‘The Unexpected,’ because if we do not keep alert and build up our strength in union with the Lord and by means of His Mighty Power, we will be defeated.

On our own, with just our own ‘Human Strength,’ we are helpless against the ‘Forces of Darkness’ in our world. Without the ‘Full Armor of God, we are weaponless in ‘The Eternal Crusade.’ As Knights, we must always place our ‘Hope’ in our Lord Jesus Christ. We should pray often, keep alert & never give up!

The ‘Ultimate Victory’ will be ours. “God Wills It!”

Wow, I like how you write Grail Knight. By the way, if you’ve written or feel like writing a Knight Templar poem, let me know and we’ll add it to our poetry page: https://www.theknightstemplar.org/templar-poetry/

There is an old saying thag goes something like this: “If we dont’ all stand together in ‘Unity’…..We will all Hang separately in ‘Disunity.”

This is expecially true of ‘Christianity.’ We have all been divided into hundreds if not thousands of different denominations, that don’t trust one another. As long as we remain so……we will never have the strength to resist the threats to our world. Pray for Unity (at least Unity of a ‘Christ-Like Spirit.’)

This is so true and so well said!

I’ve never heard that Hymn but I sure like it. I’d like it to be adapted to the Knights Templar and to adults.

For me, personally…..Knighthood is much more than any mere job, career or occupation. It is not something that a person can just quit or retire from. I consider it to be a ‘Holy & Sacred Vocation.’ Once someone have been ‘Honored’ with the ‘Accolade of Knighthood,’ I sincerely believe that it leaves an ‘Indellible Mark’ upon their very soul. A ‘Mark of Knighthood’ that can never, ever be erased.

Your answer is so eloquent it’s almost poetic Brother

what interested me in the Templars was the whole idea. knighthood, learning fencing the way the Templars did, they at the time were the greatest fighting force in their time. fighting for Christ in the name of. helping people. finding other God fearing people. the country is declining in faith and respect for religion and God. you can’t control someones choices but to be able to influence them in a positive manner and change the negative thoughts and let them see the light again, no matter how small the task. bringing kindness to someones heart is the greatest reward of them all. to see it in their faces. is the greatest thing. i will know then i did my job. you don’t need a sword to do battle all the time just kindness. when an elderly lady kisses your cheek for helping her carry her groceries, now that is just cool

    Very well said Michael!

Yes, I have been in contact with Col. Carter as well as Doc, I believe I am on my way, but God is and has been a mainstay in my life I don’t know where I would be without the guidance and protection of our Holy Father.

I’m so glad to hear it!
May the Lord bless you and keep you Josh

It’s hard to not want a benefit from something, but if you devote yourself to Jesus, you will be given a reward greater than any position of power or title: Everlasting Life in Heaven. So if you have a good servant Spirit, you are already richer than any King.

I couldn’t agree with you more Celtic Knight
